Our Facilities...

There are two halls, the Main Hall (about 20 x 8 yards) and the Meeting Room (about 9 x 4 yards).

These can be hired separately or together. When both rooms are hired together, the hirer has the complete undisturbed use of the entire facilities for private parties and events. Good quality curtains are fitted.

Access is with an electronic key which is provided by the booking clerk for a returnable deposit of £5. The keys are time specific. so if your function is on a Thursday you will receive a Thursday only key. Sorry about the deposit, but that is what it costs us to replace one of the keys.

When central heating is required there is a button to press in each room which will provide central heating for up to two hours, as specified on the light beside the button. If you require central heating for more than two hours, then simply press the button again as necessary. The Trustees would appreciate it if you save us from having to increase rents by turning off the heating before you leave, using the same button. The Meeting Room button is on the wall near the kitchen door, and the Mail Hall button is just on the right of the door from there into the kitchen. There are adjustable heaters in both rooms.

There is a handy home-style kitchen with access from either room, it can be booked together with either room, first come, first served.

A bar is available in the Main Hall. This requires at least two weeks notice, so that the necessary licence can be obtained. It is maintained by a local publican. We are licensed for music and dancing.

Crockery and cutlery are available for hire. They are so attractive that items keep disappearing, so we have to make a count and a small hire charge for them.

We have both access and toilet facilities for the disabled.

Crockery

For functions in the Institute only, sets of crockery and cutlery can be hired for £10, per set of 10 settings, payable in advance. Complete return of 10 settings qualifies for £8.00 refund to hirer.
