About the Riccall Village Institute

The Institute was founded in1927 by a group of villagers who raised the funds and built it themselves.

In early days it had a permanent billiards table at one end of the main hall, and the rest of the hall was often used for table tennis, as well as Whist Drives and Dances. The linoleum at one end of the main hall indicates the site of the billiards table.

We are at your service, and are keen to help you if you wish to use our facilities. Have you a new idea? Do you want to hold a class? Are you looking for a party venue? The Institute operates under a Charity Commissioners Scheme dated 2002. The previous Scheme had omitted various items from the original Trusts, and this has now been brought up to date.
